Jacklyn's life work is dedicated to supporting studying and ending the harmful legacy of the cultural and economic expropriation enacted upon small island nations, sub-Saharan and North African countries during the colonial era. She has particular expertise in cross-cultural PPPs and enterprises that build novel, resilient cooperative partnerships between SMEs with few previous economic ties. While presently she is unable to discuss the international business corporation she co-founded and co-leads with her tradfi business partner, she has enjoyed great success since the foundation of their company in applying her hallmark deep qualitative research praxis & multidiscipinary rigor to innovative business development, market positioning, regulatory, governance and legal strategy efforts at their rapidly expanding enterprise. She looks forward to the months ahead when she will be able to share her story and the work her team has done build a more just, inclusive & expansive economic future for all. Jacklyn was Senior Museum Specialist of African and Pacific Ethnology and Archeology in the Division of Anthropology at the American Museum of Natural History from 2011 to 2022. Her career-spanning research work identifies the predictors of emerging disasters as well as the cultural, political & economic drivers and consequences of insufficient risk planning & response. She remains proud of the institutional reform work she accomplished at AMNH and remains devoted to advocating for her colleagues & the sector. She continues to lead prominent leading anti-corruption & responsible governance initiatives at public & private institutions. In 2015, The Carter Center commissioned the publication of her “Politics, People & Pathogens” pedagogical text, which has been adapted for remote learning in 2020 by dozens of schools seeking to teach the social & epidemiological history of pandemics to students in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. She was honored for her work by Lord Speaker Baroness D'Souza in a special House of Lords session featuring former US President Jimmy Carter in 2016.Notable presentations of her work include the American Ethnological Society, Council for Museum Anthropology, University of Brighton, Leeds University (“Post-colonial Disasters”), a keynote at Theorizing the Web 2019 & “Histories of HIV/AIDS” and “Curating the Future: Museum, Communities and Climate Change,” international conferences co-convened at AMNH.
