For years, I searched for my purpose, bouncing between ideas and feeling like I was always just one step away from finding the right path. I poured my energy into completing my degrees—first in Creative Writing, then in Instructional Design—but even with two powerful tools in hand, something still felt incomplete. I kept asking myself, 'What am I really meant to do?'After graduation, I dove deep into job boards, career sites, and endless advice articles, looking for that 'aha' moment that would tell me where I belonged. I knew I was creative, and I knew I was passionate about learning—but I struggled to figure out how to connect the dots. It wasn't until I started reflecting on my two passions—storytelling and learning design—that I realized the answer had been right in front of me all along. The missing piece wasn’t out there somewhere; it was inside me, waiting for me to put it all together. Storytelling wasn’t just something I loved; it was the key to making learning experiences meaningful and memorable.By combining my Creative Writing degree with my Instructional Design degree, I created Narrative Learning Design (NLD)—a framework that brings the power of stories to the world of instructional design. The more I worked with it, the more I realized that storytelling was the bridge between creativity and learning, the magic that made education stick with people in a way that traditional methods couldn’t.Now, I help instructional designers and course creators do the same—fill their lessons with stories that engage learners, stir emotions, and drive real change. It turns out that the answer I was searching for was with me all along; I just needed to embrace what I already had.
