My dream is to become a primary school teacher therefore I am undertaking a PGCE with PE to fully equip myself and turn this dream into a reality. I had the pleasure of being taught by some amazing teachers during my time in school which made my educational experience unforgettable. This fuelled my ambition to become a teacher and I aspire to one day have the same effect on students of my own. I want to help prepare young minds for the transition from primary to secondary and for their lives beyond. I believe student engagement is a massive key to successful teaching. This comes from creative, fun lesson plans and an amazing level of subject knowledge. From my own school experience, I was lucky enough to have some amazing teachers who definitely adopted the above characteristics and took the time to get to know their students. This resulted in good grades and good knowledge retention. This is something I will definitely be bringing into my classroom. My interests lie heavily in the sporting world. Both watching and playing sport act as my release from the everyday stresses we all face. My main sport is Rugby League however, I am slowly making a nice transition into endurance based events such as running, cycling & swimming with my big aim to in the next few years completing my first ironman triathlon.
