Responsible for the readiness of division engineer forces in terms of manning, equipping, and training to go to war. Supervise all engineer matters pertaining to operations, training, exercises, force management, force modernization, simulations, facilities, and combat readiness impacting over 1100 active and reserve Engineer Soldiers at Fort Drum and Fort Polk. Supervise all functions of Engineer readiness across the Division, to include combat, general, and geospatial engineering. Responsible for the readiness, morale, and welfare of a 12 Soldier Division Engineer section. Supervise the engineer actions involved in the division's force generation plan, Division Road to War, and the Fort Drum Campaign Plan 2011-2037. Ensures engineer capabilities are integrated into plans, future operations, current operations, training, and exercises.

Responsible for the training, discipline, morale, readiness, health, and welfare of 95 soldiers. Leads route clearance and general combat engineer operations in support of 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry and 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiments in the Maiwand District and Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. Responsible for the maintenance and accountability of vehicles, weapons, and equipment in excess of $40 million. Serves as the principle advisor to infantry and armor commanders on the employment of engineer assets and soldiers. Responsible for the professional development of all assigned officers, noncommissioned officers, and soldiers. Synchronizes, leads, and controls all company and attached engineer assets.

Plans officer in a 700 person, combat effects engineer battalion. Provides direct support to the operations officer and battalion commander through the preparations of battalion operations orders and daily tactical updates. Responsible for planning and resourcing training with Air Force, Marine Corps, and other external organizations on Fort Drum. Assesses training in accordance with the commander's intent. Coordinates and synchronizes battalion resources with primary staff sections to ensure companies are trained for deployment to Afghanistan. Supervises and assesses the execution of plans and orders for the commander. Advises the commander and operations officer on the progress of operations and training. Identifies and analyzes problems that affect mission accomplishment of the same.

Directly responsible for all security, communications, and other requirement of the Deputy Commanding General. Maintains coordination and liaison with international and non-governmental organizations, U.S. government agencies, and foreign government agencies. Locates, researches, and assembles mission essential reports publications, and reference sheets. Serves as the point of contact for higher and lower headquarters.

Responsible for advising an Iraqi Army Brigadier General and his Executive Officer on all matters related to command and staff operations to include: operations, maintenance, logistics, facilities management, and budget management. Additionally, serves as an advisor to the Iraqi brigade personnel officer on matters relating to human capital management, promotions, and soldier pay. Advises the Iraqi brigade logistics officer on maintenance. Duties as the transition team executive officer include management of the team calendar to ensure synchronization between U.S. and Iraqi counterparts. Supervises personnel actions for the team to include awards, evaluations, assignment orders, and serves as the team expert on combat engineer operations.
