The master thesis project was performed in partnership with WSP, building upon the work previously conducted within their Out of Thin Air report, where an innovative solution to London's housing supply was proposed, utilizing the land above London's rail infrastructure. The MSc research project was posed to investigate, and consequently answer the question, "But where to build the housing sites?". This was done by first identifying the amount of 'eligible' rail to build upon using a… Show more The master thesis project was performed in partnership with WSP, building upon the work previously conducted within their Out of Thin Air report, where an innovative solution to London's housing supply was proposed, utilizing the land above London's rail infrastructure. The MSc research project was posed to investigate, and consequently answer the question, "But where to build the housing sites?". This was done by first identifying the amount of 'eligible' rail to build upon using a combination of open- and private- data sources, which indicated a far greater quantity of eligible land than previously estimated in other research. Following this, Multi-Criteria Decision Making techniques were adopted in combination with the Analytical Hierarchy Process method, to create a theoretical framework and accompanying ArcGIS model, used to identify the best and worst locations to build housing within the land available. The model included a set of criteria and constraints which carried varying weighted values within the calculation, due to perceived differing levels of importance. Despite the project being focused on utilizing London's land resources, the model may be easily adapted so to be applied in any city in the world. This position predominantly involves using GIS digitising techniques in order to perform accurately mapped land parcels for farm owners, allowing them to receive the monetary subsidies from the aforementioned associating organisations. I individually organised and ran a structured Football training programme for aspiring young athletes, between the ages of 8 and 14, in partnership with Forest Green Rovers Football Club. This role demanded high levels of preparation and organisation, to design and execute a detailed plan from which to follow, as well as developing my leadership and communicative skills in order to efficiently converse these plans.
