Summer Intern - Commercial Scrutiny & Due Diligence Team
As an intern I was placed within the Commercial Scrutiny & Due Diligence team and was tasked with reforming the process in which the team were able to establish common mistakes and learning opportunities from the numerous contracts studied per year.This involved liaising with multiple stakeholders to establish the exact desired aims and then working with our IT department to create a product that fitted these aims while still retaining some backwards compatibility. I was extremely successful in this regard and was the only intern within the department granted an extension in my contract as both a reward for my success and due to the team's desire to get me involved in other work.This other work included assisting on the Due Diligence of contracts with values in the hundreds of millions of pounds and working with the Team Leader to assist her in the reform of the wider teams individual portfolios.
Intern - Data Analysis
Through the Richardson Institute at Lancaster University I interned with the INGO Safety Advisory Office, of which is currently 100% funded by the European Union Humanitarian Office (ECHO). ISAO work to provide safety and security information, analysis and advice to the INGO community in Yemen – currently numbering approximately 55 organisations.My role in this internship was to analysis and reach coding conclusions on over 3000 incidents of violence within the country of Yemen so that these incidents which were only in a written format were suitable for use within graphs and statistics.Since the finalization of my work, ISAO have been able to author their Quarterly Report (predicated on quantitative data), use the data in their advisory roles, as well as to provide INGOs with a recent history of security incidents in their implementation areas and present this in both data and graphic forms.

My responsibilities included managing 2 kitchen staff, liaising with Heineken UK and Kuehne & Nagel on deliveries, learning the pub "trade" and working with the Landlady and the owners of the pub to make it more friendly to students.
