Hillingdon Community Trust was a local grant-making trust funding voluntary and community projects and activities in the South Hillingdon area. Our main funding came from Heathrow Airport Ltd which agreed, when permission was given for the building of Terminal 5, to provide £1m a year for 15 years to benefit the local community.As a trustee I sat on the main grants panel, where my knowledge of youth projects and project scrutiny was used with my colleagues skills to make decisions on the distribution of funds to benefit the community through projects ranging in costs from £500 to £100,000s

On large audits (Network Rail £6Bn revenue) I was charged with auditing payroll and the controls process behind P2P.Additionally I was chosen by my team to be trained in IT Audit, and I was heavily involved in the audit of the IT systems for Network Rail.I passed all six of the ICAEW Certificate level exams of the ACA achieving the Certificate in Finance, Accounting, and Business (CFAB)

Working from alumni records I would build profiles of potential donors for actioning by the Alumni Relations team. I would additionally contact low value prospects myself, securing multiple new donors for the university.

As an intern I was placed within the Commercial Scrutiny & Due Diligence team and was tasked with reforming the process in which the team were able to establish common mistakes and learning opportunities from the numerous contracts studied per year.This involved liaising with multiple stakeholders to establish the exact desired aims and then working with our IT department to create a product that fitted these aims while still retaining some backwards compatibility. I was extremely successful in this regard and was the only intern within the department granted an extension in my contract as both a reward for my success and due to the team's desire to get me involved in other work.This other work included assisting on the Due Diligence of contracts with values in the hundreds of millions of pounds and working with the Team Leader to assist her in the reform of the wider teams individual portfolios.

Remote Working - Hadda Area, Sana’A, Yemen

Through the Richardson Institute at Lancaster University I interned with the INGO Safety Advisory Office, of which is currently 100% funded by the European Union Humanitarian Office (ECHO). ISAO work to provide safety and security information, analysis and advice to the INGO community in Yemen – currently numbering approximately 55 organisations.My role in this internship was to analysis and reach coding conclusions on over 3000 incidents of violence within the country of Yemen so that these incidents which were only in a written format were suitable for use within graphs and statistics.Since the finalization of my work, ISAO have been able to author their Quarterly Report (predicated on quantitative data), use the data in their advisory roles, as well as to provide INGOs with a recent history of security incidents in their implementation areas and present this in both data and graphic forms.

I founded the society with 5 other course representatives and was elected President for my knowledge of our Students Union and previous leadership experience.We achieved unanimous approval as a society by our Students Union Activities Executive and went from strength to strength with over 100 members. Our events were incredibly successful with our American Election "all-nighter" being attended by over 200 people and receiving widespread acclaim by both the Politics, Philosophy and Religion Department and the Lancaster University Students Union as well as many students attending with one claiming - "this should happen every week"

As Sports Officer for my Student Union I had 3 core responsibilities:To sit on the 5 member student organising committee for the Annual Roses tournament the Largest Inter-Varsity Student Sports tournament in Europe - a part of this role was to assist in the day to day running of the tournament which went largely without issue.To sit on the Activities Executive which approves new societies and gives funding to the over 200 student societies affiliated with LUSU including meeting on a personal one to one basis approximately a quarter of all these student societies gain affiliation or funding.To chair the activities council which is a once per term meeting of the Presidents of all 200 plus societies.

My responsibilities included managing 2 kitchen staff, liaising with Heineken UK and Kuehne & Nagel on deliveries, learning the pub "trade" and working with the Landlady and the owners of the pub to make it more friendly to students. This was achieved through drink promotions, increased choice of "shots" e.g. flavoured Sambuca's and by the introduction of a wider variety of food. I worked in this capacity for 2 months during my summer but left to prepare for my second year of studies at Lancaster University.

My other duties included training staff, being solely responsible for the office's filing, archiving and document storage systems and running a reception area that at the height of the property boom had two staff other than myself and received over 500 calls per day.

I was the elected Youth MP for the London Borough of Hillingdon.My role involved representing young people on a borough, city and national level.I successfully oversaw a democratisation of the Hillingdon Youth Council, lead projects that ranged in size from a shoe-string budget of just over £100 to £20,000. My success led me to be interviewed for national sector publications, to win the Young Achiever's Award for Hillingdon and to win the National UK Youth Parliament Award for Community Engagement in 2009.

Worked to ensure a budget of over £1.5million was spent effectively and according to the conditions of the grant from the Lottery Fund.Achievements include being awarded the Young Leader Award out of over 100 possible candidates for my work, tireless work ethic, leadership and team work skills.
