Spoke at EERA DeepWind while working with an engineering physicist on innovative wind, geothermal, and synthetic fuel solutions.Have participated in numerous high-level energy startup meetings; Raimo Luoma at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Antti Rinne in the Parliament House, Maija Strandberg in the Prime Minister’s Office, key figures at Fortum, and researchers at VTT and Aalto.Have also assisted and consulted on patent applications related to renewable energy innovations.I'm open to a variety of projects where I can be of assistance.

Arranging and planning of CoastGIS 2021. This included correspondence with stakeholders, website upkeep, other marketing, social media communications, email newsletter communications, etc.The theme of CoastGIS 2021 was "Sustainable Coastal Planning in a Changing World". The work gave me an opportunity to learn a lot more about applications of GIS in coastal planning and research, as well as about the various actors in the field.The position was a natural fit, considering my bachelor's thesis work that included use of GIS to explore a coastal issue (climate change, sea level rise, coastal flooding, and future threats to cultural heritage).

I taught schoolchildren attending language camps in Summer 2018, Summer 2019, and Autumn 2019. I created a multicultural, supportive, and stimulating learning environment in my classroom. I planned and carried out the instruction independently. I received very positive feedback from my students, who appreciated my creative and fun teaching methods.

Tjärnö Marine Laboratory & Kristineberg Marine Research Station

Ecology field work in May 2017 and August 2018 about the spread of the invasive Pacific oyster on the West Coast of Sweden. Based at Tjärnö Marine Laboratory in 2017 and Kristineberg Marine Research Station in 2018.Research team leads Ane Timenes Laugen, PhD & Åsa Strand, PhD are currently at the University of Agder and the Swedish Environmental Research Institute, respectively.Worked in a team and completed surveys at many locations. Collected information about oyster presence population size, and age. I also collected muscle tissue in-field from Pacific oysters for future DNA testing and communicated with passersby about the research. The work was intensive and the days sometimes long. I greatly enjoyed being outdoors completing the field work.

Evenstad, Norway

A summer of field work in the forests and mountains of rural Norway for applied ecology research. Lab tests, too. I learned more about ecology research and nature. Returned in September 2018 and May 2019 and carried out vole population tracking in a remote mountain valley independently.“Investigating micro-habitat selection behavior of grazing cattle in Norwegian forests”:Collected and recorded biotic and abiotic information about canopy cover, visibility, animal droppings, habitat type, and incline from resting and grazing locations, as well as control sites. Made in-field decisions about data collection procedures in response to changing and varied outdoor conditions. Lived and worked closely as a team in the wilderness.“Bilberry forest management practices for reduced browsing of Norway spruce by Eurasian elk”:Tested and recorded soil sample pH and water holding capacity as part of a research project to understand ideal growing conditions for forest bilberry plants.

The Danish American Center is a cultural center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was a pleasure to serve as Resident Caretaker while further exploring themes of migration, heritage, culture, and acculturation.Took care in maintaining the security, safety, and condition of the multifunctional cultural center, gaining the confidence of cultural center members as someone who would go above and beyond assigned duties. Communicated with guests, answered questions, and provided assistance, helping ensure an enjoyable stay.
