Hello, I am Jack! I create vibrant designs in challenging circumstances. Like most people, I cringe when I am talking about myself. I would much prefer talking about your ideas and figuring out ways to turn your vision into a tangible outcome. ... But here it goes, I bring a unique skill set. I started off in the construction industry (practical), studied drafting (efficient communicator) then got immersed in Architecture (I believe I can make people’s lives better through design... blind optimism). When you’re working with me, I want you to feel understood. The first part of this is to target common concerns you may face. Some of the main concerns my clients face is:1: creating something unique2: commercial realities 3: unfamiliarity with building processes. To solve these challenges, I have developed the following processes:1. Uncovering your visionRefining your brief is a process that is intended to clarify uniqueness. While working at world renowned Kengo Kuma + Associates, we deeply researched and tested design outcomes that spoke to the individual circumstances of people, place, and culture to ensure that unique value was harnessed in each project.2a. Establishing ValueAt the beginning we establish the unique value in your project.. Working at Elenberg Fraser taught me that you must amplify and nurture this value until the project is finished. In some instance we had only a 600mm facade threshold for a 70-storey tower to create magic. With these constraints in mind, you must be laser focused and understand efficiency. 2b. Expert Innovation I align myself with expert professionals to measure cost, buildability, and innovation. My passion and focus on buildability stems from years of working with my hands on building sites. Also, at John Wardle Architects, I was exposed to investing and sharing knowledge with building professionals. This invaluable experience leaves me constantly curious and seeking collaboration rather than consultation. 3. Clarity in planning If you have worked with me, you will constantly hear me say short term/ long term. I want you to understand the big picture while seeing all the steps it takes to get to our shared goals. With my participation in multiple leadership training programs and experience in leading large projects I think clarity in planning is paramount. I also believe too much information is overwhelming.
