Responsibilities: • Planning, hardware/software recommendations, management, and implementation of various GUARD & Berkshire Hathaway network related projects. • Network engineering and security ranging from Cisco firewalls, VPN, switching, routers, and wireless to Azure Infrastructure, Active Directory, group policy, VMware, and microwave systems. Accomplishments: • Designed and implemented multi-region hub and spoke Azure environment with active/active Cisco FTDv’s, load balancers, WAFs, multiple subnets, NSGs, site to site VPNs, and custom routing.• Managed and implemented a dual datacenter relocation & system upgrade for a Berkshire Hathaway location with a 100+ billion dollar book of business. • Reengineered corporate-wide IP address scheme to include proper subnetting and move away from flat network design. • Deployed high-availability branch office design to provide ISP, hardware, and VOIP redundancy, as well as SRST IP phone failback. • Implemented multiple VMware vSphere clustered environments utilizing iSCSI SANs to provide increased uptime, scalability, efficiency, and business continuity. • Designed a corporate-wide Cisco wireless solution providing secure, AD authenticated internal network access, as well as isolated public internet service. • Conducted network security and infrastructure analysis of all aspects of the environment. Presented findings / recommendations to management and began implementing numerous recommendations.
