He understands the trade offs involved with writing generic extensible code and specific code meant just for the moment. He is also a pleasure to work with. He is soft spoken while being firm and doesn't jump to conclusions about the situation at hand. Outside of work Jack cares about social justice, security, and privacy. Jack and I worked together on an open source project called SecureDrop directed at helping keep journalist sources anonymous. More than that Jack was the main reason that I began to get involved with SecureDrop. He helped me to setup my environment and introduce me to the main contributors of the project. I've seen Jack plan and host many events at our offices including, SecureDrop hackathons, Clojure meet ups, and security interest groups. I would gladly work with Jack again and believe that he would be a great addition to any team."
