Worked as a Recreation Leader for the City of West Sacramento for over 6 years. During summer, I worked as a Sports Camp Counselor where I was responsible for supervising up to 30 children at once. Worked with a small team to research and collect data to create a dataset that includes every recent housing-related bill in the California State Legislature. I gained experience tracking legislation and identifying key characteristics of each bill, such as its sponsors, supporters, and provisions. I learned about the current housing crisis in California and its overarching political problems such as: NIMBYism, zoning laws, and regulation. Research funded by the Pahl Initiative on the Study of Critical Social Issues.Individually, I constructed a database of every California State Legislator's political ideology since 2009. Utilizing RStudio, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and data organization.
