As a maintenance intern, I completed projects related to maintenance in the processing region of the facility where commodity products (corn, potatoes, seasoning, etc.) were transformed into finished products such as Doritos or Lays. Projects:-Observing the startup of each processing line and improving the instruction documentation by standardizing the format for all lines as well as increasing the level of detail of each document.-Studying the Variable Frequency Drives used in various processing lines to determine which if any drives were obsolete, assessing a priority list of which drives to replace, with what type and size of VFD to reduce inventory of spare components as well as to increase interchangable parts within the facility.

Plan Team activities, co-ordinate with design center, oversee design and manufacturing of the Baja Car, hold meetings, recruit new members, and more.

I created a clean-sheet design for the rear suspension system for the Miner Baja car the team Manufactured in 2020-21.

Working with DCAP group to grow utilization of automatic data collection. This will bolster data quality and improve the Drill Site Representative's ability to oversee safety and other responsibilities. My project focused on the automation of input of data from the Cementing of Wellbore. This was a remote role due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Working in the quality department of Griffin Wheel (Amsted Rail subsidiary) I learned about statistical analysis in manufacturing such as conducting a measurement system analysis, evaluating data and calculating process capabilities (Cp & Cpk). I worked with other members of the quality department to conduct trials on different processes in the plant and record and analyze data from these trials. I also designed a system for non-contact measurement of the thickness of a train wheel using distance measuring lasers.

I worked in the Nucor Yamato Steel Mill's Melt Shop as a co-op student from May 21, 2018, to January 15, 2019. I managed maintenance projects through their entire lifecycle beginning with collaboration with operators, mechanics, & electricians to design one-off custom solutions to maintenance personnel needs or to improve and repair equipment in Nucor Yamato's melt shop. I worked with in house and outside fabricators, managed costs, quotes, and materials and saw some projects through to implementation. Other projects of my design were successfully implemented April and July of 2019.
