The Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander Assistance Scheme (ITAS) is a Federally funded scheme aimed at assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in their chosen field of study. I was employed my Bond University as an ITAS tutor for Law, Business and French. My responsibilities included planning and conducting weekly individual tutoring sessions with several students, assisting students transitioning from high school to university, developing a support network for students through cultural understanding, liaising with Bond University staff to monitor student progress, and maintaining time-sheets and records of working hours.
Mooting Coach
I supported and managed teams of Bond University students competing in domestic and international mooting competitions, specifically, the Kirby Contracts Moot and the Wilson Moot (a Canadian constitutional law moot). My responsibilities included managing student team schedules, assisting students to formulate legal arguments, editing written memorandum, and critiquing advocacy skills. The role enabled me to apply and teach the skills I had gained during my own experience in mooting competitions. A highlight of my role was the opportunity to travel to Melbourne (the Kirby contracts moot) and Toronto (the Wilson moot) to support and watch the teams compete after their intensive preparation. It also provided an invaluable opportunity to engage with esteemed members of the judiciary, the legal industry and academics.

Legal Intern
Argyle Hotel Group is one of the world top 100 hotel groups and comprises a portfolio of mid-tier and luxury hotel brands located in China and the Asia-Pacific. Having completed a China Study Tour subject as part of my International Business major, I sought to further apply my studies by undertaking an internship in China. In 2014, I realised this goal by interning in the legal department of Argyle Hotel Group in Beijing. My responsibilities included registering AHG’s trademarks internationally, drafting and negotiating licensing contracts with American corporations and analysing Chinese – Australian diplomatic relationships. I took on further responsibilities outside the legal department, including, managing AHG’s western social media platforms (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram) as well as aiding HR in conducting interviews and reviewing resumes. In conjunction with my internship, I also privately taught English at a primary school in the Beijing Hutongs to primary school students in night time classes. I was also fortunate to travel around China’s East coast and explore some of China’s Western provinces.
