Worked primarily on transactional matters, conducting due diligence and other related real estate verification tasks. Aided in preparing certified title opinions in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

Worked as trained mediator certified for general civil mediation by the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. Mediated numerous cases out of the magistrate court in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia. Cases primarily concerned small claims and landlord-tenant disputes.

Assisted Professor James Reap in various research papers and presentations. Projects included underwater cultural heritage law in the U.S., cultural heritage and urban regeneration, and comparative analysis of international cultural heritage approaches to the approach of the U.S.

I assisted attorney-advisors at the Pittsburgh field office in performing their duties advising their agency contacts. The bulk of my work consisted of writing advisory memorandums on legal issues related to the ESA (adequacy of habitat conservation plans), CERCLA, NEPA, and other Federal administrative statutes. I also participated in numerous conference calls with clients in regards to these legal matters.

The Office of the Solicitor (SOL) is the authorized legal representative for the Department of the Interior and its component agencies. The Southeast Regional Office of SOL provides general legal representation for the Secretary of the Interior in Washington, DC, and for the regional offices of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, U.S. Geological Survey, and Bureau of Indian Affairs. My position consisted of legal research and the writing of legal memorandums used to assist clients in various areas of law, including statutory and regulatory interpretation, personnel cases (i.e., EEOC), torts, land acquisition and use, environmental and natural resources issues (i.e. NEPA, Endangered Species Act, and natural resources damages under CERCLA), Freedom of Information Act requests, and matters involving Indian tribes. Additionally, although the U.S. Department of Justice acts as trial counsel in litigation involving client agencies, SOL provides litigation support and acts as a liaison with the agencies.

I researched the history of the Cobbham Historic District, both of its architecture and residents, in order to develop programs/projects which will help encourage the appreciation of history for the districts residents and visitors. Tasks included developing an award-winning walking tour for the district and compiling an archive which will be readily accessible to the public.

I managed departmental webpage content and layout design. I also worked to foster better alumni relations.

I managed the Global Anabaptist Wiki (anabaptistwiki.org) by uploading new material and updating posts. I also helped edit publications and promote congregational multiculturalism through the distribution of said publications.
