As an Asset Development Land Intern at Chevron in Denver, Colorado, during the summer of 2024, I gained valuable insights into the intricacies of the oil and gas industry, with a strong emphasis on Colorado's regulatory landscape. I familiarized myself with key regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and contributing to optimized operational efficiency. My role involved creating Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs) for various development projects, facilitating effective collaboration among cross-functional teams. I conducted thorough title and lease checks to enhance the performance of Chevron's Rocky Mountain Business Unit, ensuring all legal and operational aspects were aligned. Additionally, I calculated Working Interest and Net Revenue Interest for over 105 wells within the Mancos Development. I also accumulated and analyzed data for 133 wells on the Chevron Ranch, which supported critical decision-making processes and identified opportunities for operational improvements. Furthermore, I reviewed information of 20 Development Projects and over 600 wells to assess the viability of a re-frack. This internship provided me with a solid foundation in land management practices and deepened my appreciation for the complexities of the energy sector.
