Responsibilities included financial and operational oversight of Rooms Division (598 Guest Suites), Food & Beverage (5 Restaurants including the 4 Diamond rated Seagar’s Restaurant), Banquet & Setup (36,000 sq. feet of meeting space), Laundry, Beach & Recreation, Security and Serenity by the Sea Spa. I conducted daily property and room inspections to ensure that each guest experience was of the highest caliber. One of my first acts was the implementation of a new training program for the resort utilizing the AAA and Forbes standards as the basis of this training. As a result we were able to increase our SALT and TripAdvisor scores. We also increased our properties TripAdvisor rating from 3.5 to 4 stars.

As the General Manager my responsibilities included financial and operational oversight of Rooms Division (686 Guest Rooms), Food & Beverage (4 Restaurants) and Banquet & Setup (91,000 sq. feet of meeting space). My main initiative was the implementation of a Team Member training program to include a primary focus on the guest experience. We use the AAA standards as the basis for this training. This renewed focus on guest service has increased the properties guest service scores from an average of 85% to over 90%.

The property set a goal for all managers of the resort that we would attain the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award by the end of the year. We achieved this goal as of December 19th of that year. As the Front Office Manager I was responsible for the management of all Front Office employees including Desk Clerks, Desk Supervisors, PBX Operators, Concierge, Bell Staff, Valet, Transportation, Night Auditors and Security Officers. I was voted Manager of the Year for 2009 by the properties executive committee.
