Substitute teaching is a role as rewarding as it is challenging and varied. Every day is a different schedule, class, and sometimes school, but the responsibilities do not vary; I am single-handedly responsible for the safety and education of over twenty children that I have never met before for an entire day. Each class period involves hundreds of decisions, constant thinking, and rapidly shifting priorities. Beyond just education and safety, I also look to ensure the well-being of each child in the room. Many children I work with have behavioral or learning disabilities, which can be especially challenging for a substitute, but I consistently ensure every single kid in my class has an enjoyable day. My students often call me "the greatest substitute teacher ever", and while I do try to stay humble, I can assure you New York City has some very smart kids.

Coming from a political science background, I became interested in stocks just before the pandemic hit, and would make investing my full time work shortly after. I was absolutely enamored with the subject, and spent every moment I could thinking about, researching, observing or trading the stock market. Investing was a way to make money by knowing about current events, and predicting future ones, and I made it my work for over two years. Towards the end of the third, despite my moderate success over this period, I decided to quit for three reasons; I wanted to quit while I was ahead, I no longer loved investing, and I wanted to return to the workforce to have a proper career.

Managed all aspects of Fraud.net's social media pages, including content creation, paid advertising, community engagement, direct messaging, performance tracking and more. Creating lists of prospective clients through social media advertising filters and then creating a direct line of communication with them was eventually the largest responsibility in my work. I brought these clients from their prospect to product demonstration stages, utilizing CRM to track clientele progress, and then I would eventually hand them off to sales/C-Suite. I also often worked on search engine optimization (SEO) and website design and content (Wordpress, Canva). Other aspects of marketing that I contributed to include email campaigns, news-article responses, and webinar scripting. I left for personal reasons just before the 2020 pandemic began.Software utilized includes; Wordpress, Hubspot, Buffer, Mailchimp, Canva, Google and Microsoft Suites, Google Analytics, Asana, and Slack. The social media channels I worked on were LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, with some input on Google Ads and SEO.

At Enova, I assisted and shadowed the Lead Community Outreach Manager, working on effectively everything she did as her sole assistant. My responsibilities included writing and updating grant-application material, contributing to the creation of social media content, doing in-person marketing via fairs/stands, and creating email copy material, all in an effort to attract more customers and investors alike. We worked with both consumers and businesses, working to bring as much solar energy to the Byron Shire as possible.I contributed to the management of the Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts for Enova, both as a moderator and a content creator. The largest project I managed was a raffle that we did over the course of three weeks, where I managed the social media campaign and often did face to face communications at fairs or on main streets. I also created and placed physical advertisements, encouraging people to join both our raffle and to become investors/customers (its always both!) of Enova Community Energy.

My internship at OnLocation Experiences lasted 10 weeks, and largely consisted of identifying prospective clients and figuring out the best ways to communicate with them in order to turn them into repeat customers. After finding these clients and researching their needs, I would pass this information to sales and the C-Suite so that they could directly reach out to these prospective customers.I utilized Salesforce and LinkedIn during my time here, in order to learn about and anticipate specific customers' needs, and to convey this information in a succinct and efficient manner to the sales team. Four other interns worked at the office simultaneously, and none of us had the same manager, we did often work on projects together, related to CRM, customer research, and copywriting for targeted messages.
