About Jackson Echols
My favorite quote of all time comes from B.B. King - an innovator, an influencer and a pioneer in his field: "The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you.” I've wanted to be many different things throughout my life – from a trucker to a business owner and almost everything in between (except the person who cleans the windows on skyscrapers... I couldn't handle the heights). Whatever I wanted to be at the time, I was all in. Reading blogs, watching "day in the life" videos on YouTube and learning anything I could about the life of [insert job title here]. Over time, this has developed a curiosity within me that I didn't always understand. Whenever I meet someone new, the main question in my head is "how do you do what you do?" College wasn't the most linear path for me, but I eventually decided that studying accounting (the language of business) would allow me to keep asking this question to new people in new fields. Once I found my way into product management, I noticed that the main question had evolved and branched into questions like: - Why do you do what you do? - What's your thought process? - What's stopping you? Understanding a person's "why" keeps my curiosity fed. Using that understanding to help them reach a goal keeps my purpose fed. Professional Skills:Communicating product vision, writing agile user stories, cross-collaboration with teams and stakeholders, being a Product Owner, using SQL and Google Analytics to organize data, analyzing that data, user research, market research, action-oriented storytelling, learning from failures, celebrating the wins.
