I'm a senior accountancy major at Miami University's Farmer School of Business. Following my graduation this May, I will pursue a CPA certificate. After my freshman year at Farmer, I landed an audit internship with the Hamilton County (OH) Board of County Commissioners. There, I gained valuable accounting experience, but I also learned how to work under pressure as a professional. The following summer, I returned to Hamilton County. This time around, I worked with the Engineer's Office in an information systems role. This experience sharpened my Excel and Access skills, and broadened my general skill set. In the summer following my junior year, I took a series of classes so that I'd clear the CPA eligibility criteria. Now that I've accumulated the necessary credits, I plan on sitting for the first exam in the summer of 2025.
