Dr. Jackson Braz Marcinichen is the Founder and Director of JJ Cooling Innovation SÀRL (Lausanne-Switzerland) and has over 20 years experience in HVAC & R systems. He received his BE in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil in 1996, and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the same university in 2006. He has authored over 30 technical papers in journals, conferences, book chapters and US patents. He has designed and evaluated several experimental facilities characterizing the thermo- and hydrodynamic of cooling systems (calorimeters, wind tunnel, hybrid systems etc). He was also engaged in the development of a new novel hybrid cooling system to cool high performance microprocessors using on-chip cooling and in the evaluation of potential secondary applications for the waste heat of datacenters. Today, he is at the frontline of his own thermal consulting company.Specialties: HVAC & R engineering.Experimental and applied thermal sciences.Modeling of thermal machinery & thermal system simulation.Control strategies applied on refrigeration systems.Heat transfer and fluid mechanicsDatacenters cooling systems.Electronics cooling.Energy recovery.Physical chemistry of surfaces.
