RESEARCH ACTIVITIES AT LTCM:1. Micro-Evaporation Cooling System for High Performance Micro-Processors: Development of Prototype Units and Performance Testing.2. Direct Re-Use of Waste Heat from Liquid-Cooled Supercomputers: Towards Low Power, High Performance, Zero-Emission Computing and Datacenters.3. Efficiency Improvements of a Thermal Power Plant and District Heating Facility by utilizing the Waste Heat of Large Datacenters with Two-phase On-chip Cooling4. Holistic Thermal-Aware Design for Energy-Minimal Datacenters. TRANSCEND Project.MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES AT LTCM:1. Study, development, implementation and coordination of a new experimental sector of the LTCM lab (7 experimental facilities).2. Development of several new research proposals submitted to funding agencies from Switzerland and USA (EOS holding, CCEM, CTI, NanoTera, DARPA, etc).3. Management of several research projects associated with cooling of high heat flux components (microprocessors, IGBTs, diode laser, etc) using passive and active cooling systems. Coordination of a research engineering group: 7 researchers, which involves Masters and PhDs students and Post doctors. 4. Development of several hydro-thermodynamic engineering tools capable to design and evaluate performance of heat exchangers and active-passive cooling systems.CONSULTING PROJECTS:1.
