Jackson Mertes was raised in Ottertail, MN and moved to Lakeville in October of 2021 to pursue real estate. He spent his high school years cooking in various lakes area restaurants, eventually landing as a line cook at The Fireside in Detroit Lakes. He brings the strong work ethic & commitment gained from that industry to each of his clients. Jackson also took numerous college courses in subjects such as management, marketing, psychology, and personal finance that gave him crucial knowledge which helps him negotiate effectively and market intelligently. With these achievements, he was able to graduate high school with over a year of college credits and a dedication to success.Before moving to the Twin Cities, Jackson was able to secure a job as a property manager at a large self-storage facility, effectively managing hundreds of tenants. This role has helped hone his customer service and negotiation skills. During his tenure at this facility, he’s been able to prepare himself for a career in real estate by participating in forums, listening to podcasts, attending meetups, and immersing himself into the industry in any way he can.Jackson now lives in Lakeville with his girlfriend and their dog and cat. Some of his favorite activities include cooking, listening to music, reading, and exploring nearby state parks. Along with his negotiation skills, Jackson also enjoys meeting his clients’ needs and showing that age does not always represent capability or the lack thereof. He is financially creative, sets an extremely high standard for himself, and possesses a contagious laugh with a fantastic sense of humor.
