Hello! My name is Jackson O'Connor, and I am a dedicated programmer with a passion for solving complex problems and automating routine facets of the everyday workplace. With over seven years of experience in this field, I have gained extensive knowledge and expertise in programming, software development, and communication alike.During my time as the lead programmer and co-captain for First Tech Challenge team 8411, I had the opportunity to apply my skills to real-world challenges and led our team to win the state championship two out of three years. I am proud to have contributed to our team's success, and learned valuable management and leadership skills along the way.Apart from my experience in STEM-related activities, I had the honor of being a member of the 2018 Agathos Classical School Mock Trial team, which won the National High School Mock Trial Championship that year. Through this experience, I developed strong critical thinking and communication skills, which have been invaluable in my academic and professional pursuits. I’ve also been a digital music producer for around three years at this point, with my skill set encompassing composing unique instrumentals, recording and modifying vocals, and mixing and mastering to provide a final product. I’ve been rewarded through my work in developing further creativity, networking and communication know how, a great attention to minute details, and the persistence to see an end goal and strive towards its completion without sacrificing quality. I feel like these traits will carry over well in a professional setting, regardless of industry. Currently, I am studying Information Systems with a focus on Cybersecurity at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I am excited to be part of a program that combines my passion for technology with my interest in keeping people and information safe from online threats.I am always looking for new challenges and opportunities to grow, and I believe that with my skills, experience, and dedication, I would become a useful asset to any team.
