Hello, my name is Jackson Paddock, I recently graduated with an MS from UC Berkeley, where I mainly focused on analog integrated circuit design, specifically power circuit design in my masters. I also took courses in other areas of electrical engineering such as semiconductor device physics and signal processing.I decided to study electrical engineering because of the excitement I feel when I build things and get to see them work, a feeling I still carry with me. I am also very enthusiastic about all aspects of musical theater.

System On A Chip For Internet Of Things
I was in charge of Power Management as part of the Integration/Verification team during a 16 week course where the entire class designed and taped out a 1mm^2 chip with a CPU, Bluetooth low energy (BLE) compatibility, and advanced encryption standard (AES). This chip has been sent out to be fabricated as well.Being in charge of Power Management, I designed and completed layout for analog and digital low dropout regulators (LDOs), an analog current reference, and a power grid spanning the chip. I also took on a more managerial role in collecting subcircuit designs, coordinating with team members, and debugging all designs at the top level of the chip.
Low Dropout Series Regulator Generation
As part of my Masters thesis, I wrote a script in Python using an infrastructure called the Berkeley Analog Generator (BAG) to generate a design for a low dropout series regulator (LDO) with a simple 5-transistor amplifier in any transistor process technology. Using this script, I was able to generate a new regulator for a Single Chip Micro Mote (SCμM) in under 2 minutes with a 95% reduction in average power consumption.
Baretroupe Music Director
As the music director for this group, I ran weekly rehearsals with more than a dozen people where I taught the music we performed in a showcase at the end of each semester. I made sure each member of the group understood their part and had the tools to practice outside of rehearsal. Additionally, I volunteered my time outside of regular rehearsals to work on music with smaller groups for the same showcase.
