A core value I hold myself to is the advocation of student literacy. As a teacher, I work to combat the recent dropping of reading achievement scores by implementing disciplinary and content literacy skills into my lessons, despite the fact I am not a Language Arts teacher. A student in my class can expect to receive a well rounded education, where they will work to critically analyze text sets to their full potential.
