Peri-operative R.N.

Responsible for Pre-op/PACU and O.R. of an outpatient Orthopedic Surgery Center with Pain Management. Preparation for successful AAAHC inspection with 3 year pass. OSHA compliance, State Inspection readiness. Maintenance of all medical equipment. Hiring of Nursing staff, evaluations, monitoring and approval of staff hours. Monitoring cost per case. Policy review and update, Quality Improvement (EDGE reporting). Patient Satisfaction, Infection Control. Staff Credentials. Education. Staff coverage during breaks/PTO/Illness, etc.

Daily clinical management of 6 O.R., one Laser RoomResponsibilities include: Preparation for Joint Commission twice, Preparation for Virginia State Inspection twice, Departmental O.R. Policy and Procedure review/revision and compliance monitoring, Member of Interdepartmental O.R. Practice Council reviewing/revising policies and procedures that applied to all 5 operating rooms within Inova Fairfax Hospital, Staff work schedules and daily assignments, PTO approval, Staff evaluations, Interviewing candidates for staff positions along with the Patient Care Director, Laser Safety Officer and Operator training staff. Monitor Sterile Processing daily processes with proper documentation, Collaborate with Anesthesiologist in charge in running daily schedule. Collaborate with Surgical Posting to schedule cases. Conduct staff meeting in Patient Care Director's absence. Monitor staff compliance with annual unit based competencies, licensure, CPR, and TB testing. Verify, approve and report staff time for payroll distribution. Establish par level for Intraocular Lens Implants. Scrub and circulate cases to relieve staff for breaks and during staff shortages.

Clinical responsibility for 6 Out Patient O.R., one laser room, Pre Registration, Pre Op, PACU and Sterile Processing.
