Within this Undergraduate Research Assistant position, I work with Dr. Diego Guarin Ph.D. in the Movement Estimation and Analysis Laboratory to quantify objective Parkinson's Disease progression scale scores (UPDRS). We utilize marker-less motion capture technology in both healthy participants and patients with Parkinson's Disease. Additionally, we collaborate with the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases on other various neurology projects, including speech and gait analysis.

I serve as an official student ambassador of the University of Florida Football Team on game days. This involves showing football prospects around the campus and stadium, and acting as a liaison between the prospects, their families, and the recruiting staff. In order to be successful in this role, I house a breadth of knowledge regarding the University of Florida Football Team, NCAA regulations and developments in NIL policies, and what the University of Florida has to offer its student-athletes.

Through my membership in the Florida Cicerones, I serve as a student ambassador to the University of Florida through my active role in our Alumni Association, Students Today Alumni Tomorrow. Additionally, I serve as a Campus Tour Guide to prospective students and families, offering them realistic insight into the student experience.

As a part of the CRISP 2024 cohort, I worked under the guidance of Dr. Stephen English M.D., M.B.A. to analyze Brainomix AI imaging and its role in the Mayo Clinic Health System hub and spoke telestroke model. I reviewed over 800 patient cases with and without Brainomix implementation to determine the effect that AI enhanced imaging (for CT, CT angiogram, and CT perfusion scans) had on telestroke neurologists’ decision making times.

To gain admission into the Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program, I had to stand out, as only 4 students are selected each cycle. Throughout my time as a phlebotomist, I learned the basics of phlebotomy and how to perform many types of venipuncture with varying needles in different anatomical locations. I performed hundreds of successful venipuncture procedures on Mayo Clinic patients, both inpatient and outpatient.

The Freshman Leadership Council chooses a select group of 50 high-achieving undergraduate Freshman students each year for leading community service projects and developing professionalism. The service project my group created was the first-annual "Get Fit Gator" event targeting promotion of fitness in the undergraduate class. My role within this project was Outreach Coordinator in which I gathered participation from numerous clubs around campus as well as the University of Florida Dietary Staff/Recreational Sports Staff.

As a 2021 SPARK scholar, I was one of 9 high school students chosen from the Northeast Florida area to participate in a rigorous all-inclusive summer research experience. Under the guidance of Dr. Baoan Ji M.D., Ph.D., I investigated the pancreatic specificity of the PRSS1 gene in a wet lab setting on the Mayo Clinic Florida campus. I utilized the tools available to complete procedures and acquire data to present to my peers, high school class, and ultimately the Florida State Science Fair. At the Florida State Science Fair I was granted an Honorable Mention for my work on this project.
