Project Engineer, Preconstruction• Competitively estimate individualized costs for federal construction projects ranging from $10 million to $100 million to yield successful bids while still reaching profitability goals.• Thoroughly evaluate project drawings and specifications to distill extensive information into concise individualized scopes of work for communication with subcontractors.• Communicate in depth with specialized subcontractors to generate interest and solicit as many competitive and accurate quotations as possible for them to perform each scope of work.• Assess each subcontractor quotation for completeness and analyze against my own internal estimates to determine the most competitive price to use in our final bid submission.• Evaluate future project opportunities to determine if they are a potential fit for the company’s current goals and resources, and travel to the site visits of favorable projects to network with local subcontractors and document existing site conditions.• Primarily spend time working in a fast-paced and structured office environment; however, have also spent considerable time working on a project site assisting to manage quality control, subcontractor productivity, and successful completion of punch list items.
