MakeUseOf.com is a rising online tech publication that serves over 21 million readers monthly. My role at MakeUseOf was leading a publication team of over 10 editors and 40 writers, alongside supervising email management, social management, and improving ad revenue.Highlights:-Navigated through several major Google Search algorithm updates, resulting in traffic growth from 500k page views/day to 1.2 million.-Implemented alternative revenue streams and boosted display advertising revenue by 400%.-Expanded publication coverage by launching several satellite websites in multiple verticals including cryptocurrency, streaming media, and geek culture.

During this time at MUO, I was mainly responsible for overall operations and strategic growth for the company. We organised several hiring runs quite successfully and I oversaw the candidate selection process as well as training. I also optimised MUO's email newsletter operations and made significant improvements which included switching to a different newsletter platform. As a result, our newsletter campaigns yielded higher deliverability, open, and click rates, with fewer dormant subscribers. I also set multiple lead capture protocols in place and managed to grow our list quite significantly. These changes, in concert, made our email list much more monetisable as well.

Between 2008 and 2013, I was the principal giveaway program coordinator and product review team leader. I led a small team of product reviewers, organised review samples to be delivered to them, laid the groundwork for our reviewing process and introduced video reviews. I also had to coordinate reviews with our giveaway program, which attracted participation from our readers all around the globe.I also managed MakeUseOf's social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ and grew our social following from inception.On the publishing side, I expanded our team and introduced the concept of section editors - these were experts in their field who would focus on improving the overall content quality. I also implemented several publishing workflows that help with content generation that are still currently used.

I assisted in establishing the company's Apple content section by being their first Mac writer.
