Tbm Engineer Intern
As a TMB engineer Intern with the Kiewit Underground District I was in a unique position to take on a great deal of responsibility. Nearing the end of the Roundout tunnel project, I filled the shoes of an engineer that had moved to another project and made sure to learn fast. From the start I was tasked with planning and designing the processes to lift dozens of machine components weighing up to 100 tons up a 600' exit shaft. This required collaboration with multiple parties including the TMB manufacturer, craftsmen, materials suppliers, and internal design engineers. Each plan was vetted by the Owner, Project manager, Lead engineer, Lead TMB Engineer due to the critical nature of the operation. This opportunity provided me with a wealth of knowledge and passion for succeeding in unique and challenging environments withing the construction industry.
