Tide 100.9, the flagship radio station of Alabama sports, is owned by Townsquare Media, is a cross-platform, multimedia outlet that generates 74,600 CUME on radio, 1,098.080 UVS on digital, and 152,914 followers on social media. I regularly contribute to Inside the Locker Room with Wimp & Barry, Big Noon Sports, The Game with Ryan Fowler, and co-host a regular sports feature show.

I founded WA Sports Wire at the beginning of my junior year in August 2019, after ongoing talks with my high school journalism teacher. In this role, I created a new sports-specific publication for my school that established a team of staff writers to assist me in covering athletic programs. Accolades included creating a Twitter and Instagram platform to share content, designing a new and innovative publication sent out weekly to students, and leading a team of writers and publishing content to go along with our successful sports teams.

In addition to my role on the UGA Wire beat, I also helped start-up Roll Tide Wire. My work for Roll Tide Wire included writing sports content, as well as implementing a search engine optimization, social media tagging and syndication model, and helped to quickly build the website from the ground up to over 200,000 views per month.

I joined Buckeyes Wire to cover Ohio State basketball for 2018 and 2019, and I provided part-time football coverage during bowl season. While I was not a full-time writer for Buckeyes Wire, I did attend media events for the publication. In January 2019, I covered an Ohio State gymnastics meet for the website. In July of 2019, I attended Big Ten Media Days in Chicago for Buckeyes Wire, interviewing coaches including Ryan Day, Jim Harbaugh and James Franklin. In December 2019, I covered The Home Depot College Football Awards at the College Football Hall of Fame for Buckeyes Wire, attending the College Football Playoff coaches press conference and interviewing players including Justin Fields, JK Dobbins, Chase Young and Jeff Okudah up for top awards.

I have written over 1,500 articles with UGA Wire since December 2017, and I helped to assist in content creation, SEO research, social media branding and leading a group of writers on the team. In addition to my writing, I helped UGA Wire grow into a leading Georgia Bulldogs media outlet by creating an SEO, social media tagging and syndication model that drove a 3x improvement in click-through rates. That model is now being used by 100+ other websites in the USA TODAY Sports Digital portfolio.

Jacksonville, Florida Area

I served with Jags Wire during the 2018 NFL season as a contributing writer for USA TODAY Sports Digital, looking to expand my coverage to various NFL cities. During my tenure with USA TODAY Sports Digital, I periodically wrote articles on the Jaguars, helping the editor of the publication when production was slim. Given Jacksonville is a small market for sports, I enjoyed the challenge of finding an audience for Jaguars coverage while tackling coverage for UGA, Ohio State and a number of other NFL teams, as well.

My role with Bengals Wire was similar to Jags Wire. I periodically contributed to the site while working on other NCAA and NFL content. Working with a Cincinnati-based NFL team enabled me to extend my coverage into the Ohio sports market, where my paternal lineage allowed me to channel a strong passion for the teams in that region.

Los Angeles Metropolitan Area

Served as local Atlanta correspondent covering the Los Angeles Rams for Rams Wire in the weeks leading up to their appearance at Super Bowl LIII, where they played the New England Patriots. I wrote articles, attended press conferences and interviewed athletes as a member of the working press.

Greater Atlanta Area

Covered the Atlanta Falcons during training camp and the NFL preseason in 2018. Content included pieces on practice, game previews, recaps and injury reports. While focusing primarily on my duties with the UGA Wire, Buckeyes Wire and Bengals Wire, I enjoyed having the opportunity to contribute to my local NFL team's coverage.
