To date, it has raised over $160 million in capital from top Silicon Valley venture capitalists and conducted successful launches.As the only engineer for a period of time, I took on a variety of responsibilities:• Engineering, prototyping, and validating critical software and electromechanical systems requiring nanosecond accuracy for payload acceleration and release at hypersonic speeds• Simulating and engineering payloads capable of withstanding intense atmospheric heating and 10,000+ G's of centrifugal force• Prototyping one of the world's largest vacuum chambers• Building out a 100,000+ square foot factory and sourcing equipment and materials used to manufacture the initial launch system• Establishing the early mechanical/electrical/software engineering team (sourcing and interviewing candidates, making hiring decisions, and training new engineers)• Driving the forklift
