-Respond to emergency incidents, take actions to prevent injury, and perform surf/ocean rescues of injured or incapacitated victims in a dangerous marine environment; Administer DOT First Responder First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Automatic External Defibrillation, as necessary; Provide oversight, leadership, backup and relief for other Seasonal Ocean Lifeguards-Operate as an Assistant Junior Lifeguard Group Leader, providing oversight, leadership, instruction and safety for 50 participants daily; Develop and maintain goals for the program; Handle difficult parental issues/problems; Mentor assigned instructors; Coordinate the use of equipment; Handle immediate problems such as discipline, scheduling and rescues, when assigned-Patrol an assigned area in an emergency response vehicle or rescue boat, providing surveillance of swimmers, and assistance, back-up and relief for lifeguards assigned to the area; Educate and advise beach goers of dangerous marine conditions and beach hazards; Provide lectures and presentations on beach and ocean safety, CPR and first-aid; Provide high level customer service, education and information to residents and beach visitors; Identify lost individuals and coordinate reunification
