For as long as I can remember I have been curious about all manor of scientific and quantitative disciplines. When I was in elementary school I would ask my parents to buy me these large, wordy text books about the weather, my earliest fascination. In highschool, the interest morphed into Chemistry where I was able to understand that the relationships between the smallest of particles known to man were responsible for all types of phenomena we observe in the world around us, including the weather.At Irvine Valley College I was able to realize my true passion, Mathematics, the true foundation of all scientific and quantitative disciplines. Without the axioms and theorems of Mathematics that we often take for granted, the foundations of other scientific disciplines simply do not exist. Math is the language of numbers, and I aim to be a translator. I believe Data Analytics is akin to being a translator for the language of Math. In Math, there are different dialects, your numbers may have some “slang” that needs to be filtered/cleaned to extract the true meaning. One set of data may be trying to communicate completely differently than another. What is the data really trying to tell you? This song and dance with all different types of data and the investigative nature of Data Analytics is truly where my passion lies.
