Have 50+ years experience in policy and organizational leadership, journalism and the law, now applying that learning to help others navigate life. I have been a documentary photographer, reporter, editor, partner in a big law firm, chief legal officer of a media corporation, corporate ethics officer, public radio executive, commentator, and chairman of the board of a major agency of photojournalists. Organizations I have worked for include the Raleigh News and Observer, the Washington Post, National Public Radio and VII Photo Agency. I have worked as a lawyer, photographer, consultant to media organizations on their operational and business structure, including business transactions, and taught the business of photojournalism. In 2104 I co-founded and served until 2019 as Executive Director of Trauma Training for Journalists, an NGO which provided medical trauma and operational safety training for journalists, especially local journalists, working in hazardous environments.
