Nigel was retained by DSW Consulting, learning and development specialists, to lead their leadership development and executive coaching growth strategies. This assignment resulted in the delivery of flagship leadership, coaching and behavioural development programmes both in the UK and internationally, across 7 European countries, spanning 5 languages.

Having navigated a broad career in financial services spanning three decades, Nigel was keen to invest his experience in helping businesses and individuals to release their inherent potential. This led to being invited to join the board of ABSTRACT, a boutique management consulting business specialising in people development. During his time with ABSTRACT, Nigel led the executive coaching practice where he worked with senior executives and leaders from the world of publishing, financial services and the third sector. Alongside this work, Nigel delivered a flagship leadership programme to the executive board and senior leadership team of a top 15 global financial services company. In addition, he instigated and delivered a female talent development programme, having completed a research assignment on how more women can advance their careers towards the top of large organisations.

Nigel initially joined RBS as Regional Director to lead the expansion of its High Net Worth business in England and Wales. Success in several key roles led to his appointment as Managing Director for the UK Private Banking businesses of both RBS and NatWest. Following the onset of the financial crisis, Nigel instigated and led a complete cultural and leadership transformation programme centred on the rebuilding of trust, both internally and externally. This transformation resulted in the businesses’ most successful period to date.

Nigel led the front-office transformation of Aviva’s then newly-formed JV business with RBS Group. This programme resulted in a totally new, customer-centric operating model, providing financial advice to both private and corporate customers.

Nigel's eighteen-year career at Lloyds Banking Group included senior leadership positions in Branch Banking, Commercial Banking and the Life, Pensions and Investment businesses. This culminated in a special attachment to the newly-acquired Scottish Widows business to lead the front-office integration of the Lloyds and TSB networks’ life and pensions businesses.
