My initial responsibilities at Thrive Life were to help revamp the Supply Chain processes to better facilitate the extreme fluctuations Thrive Life was experiencing. To help reduce the stockouts on inventory, I worked with our suppliers to better manage our agreements and inventory expectations on both ends. We found creative ways to solve problems on the supplier and distributor side of the business that aided in solving multiple problems.I was then tasked with working with the IT and Development Teams to rework several of their processes, was part of several committees to make improvements throughout the organization and was part of the team that helped to bring in the industrial freeze dryers. While working on my Undergraduate in Accounting and Management Information Systems I was also learning the fundamentals of Lean, Six Sigma, and JIT (Just in time Inventory) at work. In addition we were using Excel, Access, and VBA to help custom develop a manufacturing tool that allowed for customization of the productLeadership: - Managed a team of 11 Sales/Customer service staff in two locations (250 miles apart). - Co-managed the 25-30 person production crew (for about a year). - Was responsible for hiring and dismissing my own staff.Safety Coordinator:- Established all OSHA documentation, established all safety guidelines, procedures, and training's.Manufacturing:- Developed systems for cutting and sewing cushions and covers for rockers, recliners, futons, etc.- Redesigned inventory tracking and purchasing system for over 350 individual components in about 1000 locations. This system reduced counting time by several hours and purchasing time by nearly 5 days (It took about 3 hours to purchase all the products). This was done by automating the communication with the suppliers.- Co-developed a custom catalog and product line of about 4000 products with 800 options.
