My initial responsibilities at Thrive Life were to help revamp the Supply Chain processes to better facilitate the extreme fluctuations Thrive Life was experiencing. To help reduce the stockouts on inventory, I worked with our suppliers to better manage our agreements and inventory expectations on both ends. We found creative ways to solve problems on the supplier and distributor side of the business that aided in solving multiple problems.I was then tasked with working with the IT and Development Teams to rework several of their processes, was part of several committees to make improvements throughout the organization and was part of the team that helped to bring in the industrial freeze dryers. This included building planning, working with equipment specialists, and helping to run the equipment once it was installed.Leadership:- Managed the Supply Chain Team- Managed the internal project development team- Helped manage the new Freeze Dry equipment team (specifically over the technology and final stage completion for the Freeze Dry production team)- These responsibilities included the managing of day-to-day work, hiring, and performance reviews.Supply Chain and Logistics:- Rebuilt the entire supply chain system in 3 months to improve the accuracy of purchasing and forecasting.- Renegotiated contracts with suppliers that saved over $500,000 in the first year.- Reduced stock-outs of products from over 35% to less than 10%- Restructured several manufacturing material goods (labels, cans, etc.) to be closer to JIT principles which saved hundreds of hours of labor per year in stocking and counting. In addition, this improved cash flow and freed up space for additional inventory.Technology:- Redesigned WiFi system to remove dead spots and improve all users’ experiences.- Helped manage all servers, network, phones, and workstations.

I had the rare opportunity to build the operations from the ground up for one of the fastest-growing direct-sales companies in Utah. The single greatest achievement over this time was the recognition received from executive staff members, consultants, vendors, and co-workers about the amazing attitude, work ethic, and dedication of my team. At times they were asked to work 12-16 hour days (for several weeks), come in on weekends, cover shifts for others, and put their personal lives on hold while we handled the challenges of hyper-growth. My team maintained a great attitude through all of this and fulfilled their responsibilities beyond everyone’s expectations (Including my own). Their attitudes are a tribute to what open, honest, and reliable leadership can do for any company.Leadership:- Hired and manage 70+ employees and temps; with peaks of over 10 new temps a week. - Established warehouse positions (job descriptions, titles, and pay ranges), personnel policies, incentive programs, disciplinary procedures, and advancement system. - Established training program that built leadership skills, emphasized Youniques' mission, and motivate new hires.Supply Chain and Logistics:- Designed and built a manual system that was used for procurement, inventory tracking, order fulfillment, order distribution, and QC. System ran between 98.5% and 99.5% accuracy. It was built on the principles of Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, KanBan, and JIT.- Designed Excel system that was tied to MySQL to project: monthly sales, product trends, facility requirements, and labor requirements (warehouse).- Helped implement WMS System (Snapfulfil)Technology: Helped setup and design IT infrastructure including: VOIP, WAN, LAN, printers and cloud based data solution. Maintained: Apple, Windows, and Android devices, including Laptops, mobile phones, Tablets, desktops and virtual environments (Xenserver).

Personalized IT started out as a hobby of fixing friend's computers and grew into a one-stop-shop for small businesses. It quickly expanded to helping businesses implement the right technology at the right time. The mission of Personalized IT was simple, "Help businesses utilize technology by designing and implementing systems that increase quality, reduce costs, and enhance their core competencies." Over time personal goals changed and the need to step away from Personalized IT became inevitable. The experiences and time spent working with hundreds of businesses will never be forgotten.Business Details:- Personalized IT grew to have a brick and motor facility that sold $10,000 - $20,000 a month of computers and electronics to.- This facility was outfitted with a professional training room that allowed individuals to host specialized courses for individuals in the area. Classes were held about once a week and included courses in: Excel, Word, QuickBooks, Personal Budgets, etc.- Onsite work for businesses remained the core of the business and at one point included 45 businesses whose networks and systems were maintained exclusively by Personalized IT staff.- Personalized IT had 2 onsite and 5 offsite staff members to maintain these services.Industries Supported:Health care, health and wellness, construction, automotive repair, real estate, legal services, accounting, food services, retail, public and private education, photography, insurance, non-profits, advertising, and many others.

To say that teaching is a passion would be an understatement. Helping individuals discover new skills and see the excitement in their eyes when they realize how much potential they have is a special experience. While working on my undergrad the local community college needed help and I was fortunate enough to be brought on for 5 semesters. Classes were small ranging from 1 - 10 students but the challenge and satisfaction were the same. Rustic Log Furniture, Inc. is one of the largest Aspen log furniture manufacturers in the U.S producing 20k pieces a year. While working on my Undergraduate in Accounting and Management Information Systems I was also learning the fundamentals of Lean, Six Sigma, and JIT (Just in time Inventory) at work. In addition we were using Excel, Access, and VBA to help custom develop a manufacturing tool that allowed for customization of the productLeadership: - Managed a team of 11 Sales/Customer service staff in two locations (250 miles apart). - Co-managed the 25-30 person production crew (for about a year). - Was responsible for hiring and dismissing my own staff.Safety Coordinator:- Established all OSHA documentation, established all safety guidelines, procedures, and training's.Manufacturing:- Developed systems for cutting and sewing cushions and covers for rockers, recliners, futons, etc.- Redesigned inventory tracking and purchasing system for over 350 individual components in about 1000 locations. This system reduced counting time by several hours and purchasing time by nearly 5 days (It took about 3 hours to purchase all the products). This was done by automating the communication with the suppliers.- Co-developed a custom catalog and product line of about 4000 products with 800 options. When the project started there was 400 products with 0 options.- Delivered products in a 40' trailer to customers in multiple statesMarketing/Sales/Logistics: - Helped increase retailers base by 75% over 5 years by utilizing trade show and print campaigns.- Developed a dynamic catalog that provided retailers with personalized information and pricing by utilizing Excel and Publisher- Attended trade shows, developed mass mailer and e-commerce ads.- Scheduled all delivery trucks and coordinated load and drop times with shippers.Technology: - Designed and Maintained all web, email, WAN, LAN, firewall, workstations, servers, printers, etc.

Laptops Etc. refurbished laptops and desktops and sold them primarily on EBay and through its e-commerce website. I was originally hired to process orders that had come in through the website and EBay, provide customer support, and run the end of day financial report. After automating these systems I was promoted to the Operations Manager and later to COO. In my first year the company did roughly $5 million in gross sales and netted $40k in profit. In my second year we focused on cutting those products and divisions that were creating losses and focused our efforts on our cash cows. By the end of the second year we did $2.4 million in gross sales and a net profit of $120k.Leadership: - Created a system to track daily sales, profit, and expenses so the owner would know on a day-to-day basis the financial status of the company. Dentrix Dental Systems is a child company to the Henry Schein Corporation. While working for Dentrix I gained a deep appreciation and understanding for the need to provide consistent, accurate, and professional support. We did not have the luxury of remotely logging into our clients systems. All support was provided 100% by phone conversation and required an extreme level of patience and visualization to help the front office staff get back up and running.Customer Service: - Provided Windows, Apple, and Linux based phone support for Dentrix Dental Systems and Labcorp software.- Advanced to Tier 4 customer service (as quickly as the company allowed -18 months) by: - Passing all internal tests - Maintaining a call volume in the top 3 technicians - Always being on time for my shift- Helped maintain support documents for entire department and maintain top 3 call volumes during tenure.- Was select for special projects by management teams to help with moving stations and providing support for escalated customers.
