We build simple, beautiful software to help you understand the skills, experience, and backgrounds of your colleagues. Sift’s concept was inspired by my experience working in bureaucracies and serving overseas in challenging environments offering severely limited resources. My role has included fundraising, building our core team, and creating the vision and driving force behind Sift’s product development and iteration from prototypes and MVP to adoption by 100+ clients with tens of thousands of users.

*Transformed an abandoned mansion into a co-working/living space for Detroit makers*Rebirth Realty transformed an abandoned house in Detroit into a communal living and working space for Detroit entrepreneurs. As a Co-Founder, I helped fundraise for the project, managed construction, dabbled in design, and spent a lot of time cleaning up drywall dust.To date, Rebirth Realty has housed more than 20 entrepreneurs from dozens of Detroit companies and continues to provide a live/work community for future generations. Notable success have included Castle (YC 2016 cohort), Slope (acquired by smartsheet), and Banza Pasta.

*Served as served as an in-house process and product consultant as a protégé of Dan Gilbert (Quicken Loans Founder/Cleveland Cavalies owner) to jumpstart/restart key strategic initiatives across the Rock Ventures portfolio*Rock Ventures serves Quicken Loans founder/Cleveland Cavaliers Chairman Dan Gilbert’s 100+ company portfolio. I served as an in-house process and product consultant as a protégé of Dan to jumpstart/restart key strategic initiatives across the Rock Ventures portfolio.My role focused on providing subject matter expertise for technology and product initiatives that included advisory on ongoing projects within the portfolio and evaluation of investment opportunities. Projects included Detroit Blight Removal Task Force, the Brush Park City Modern development, land policy research, and government affairs activities.

*Founded and led property census of Detroit's 380,00 properties and built open data portal to tackle the challenge of blight and vacancy during Detriot's bankruptcy*Motor City Mapping was a landmark public/private partnership to create Detroit’s first digital property census, inventorying 380k+ properties to build a public database of property conditions, eliminate blight, and inform neighborhood development programs.I managed initial fundraising to secure $3M+ from philanthropic and private funding sources, and then led a team of data scientists, urban planners, technologists, and community activists to conduct a census on properties spanning 139 sq mi. I was able to hire and train a team of 200+ surveyors and dozens of volunteers that completed this in under 90 days. The entire project took six months, which also included leading development of the "Blexting" (Blight + Texting) mobile app used by surveyors to document conditions and a portal (motorcitymapping.org) featuring graphics and dashboards to visualize project results for the public.During the project I served as spokesperson in dialogue with parties ranging from state officials and business groups up to the White House. Upon completion I co-authored the 380-page Blight Task Force Report (jack-seanson.github.io/taskforce) that outlined the scope and source of blight and offered 50+ actionable policy recommendations to reduce blight. I also sponsored/co-authored the Detroit Demolition Impact Report (demolitionimpact.org ) to track the impact of blight elimination, which was used to lobby the US Treasury to unlock $1B+ of funding for blight elimination nationwide as part of the Hardest Hit Program.

*Worked internationally at the intersection of conflict mitigation, economic development, and disaster response as a US Marine*As a member of the USMC 1st and 3rd Civil Affairs Groups I served in Afghanistan, Philippines, Eastern Europe, and Haiti on missions focused on humanitarian efforts, disaster response, governance, and economic development initiatives.Selected Operations:• Operation Balikatan, Philippines (2014) - Built schools, clinics, and provided humanitarian aid in areas ravaged by typhoons. Provided training on Counter Insurgency and Civil Affairs to the Philippine army.• Helmand Province, Afghanistan (2012) - Operations Chief. Managed government and economic development operations for Coalition Forces in Helmand Province.• Operation Bonvozen, Haiti (2011) - Coordinated post-earthquake relief operations including school and medical clinic construction and oversaw operations to care for 32k people and 2k animals.
