Carbon Fiber Mechanics Research
I conduct carbon fiber reinforced IM7 composite and N12 research to better understand interlaminated carbon nanotube carbon fiber composite mechanical properties via axial and bending loads. To do this, I set up samples in load frames and complete bending and compression tests using digital image correlation to visualize and record strain for a given load. Ultimate compressive residual strength and effective compressive modulus was calculated according to ASTM standards.
