The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA) is a think tank and professional association of elected and appointed prosecutors in the U.S. Working in collaboration with the Department of Justice (DOJ), other non-profit organizations, experts on current prosecutorial concerns as well as several universities and colleges, the APA provides a global forum for productive discourse and the exchange of ideas. As a legal intern, I am responsible for performing legal and empirical research, administrative duties, and assisting with project management--such as writing, proofreading, and the development and coordination of meetings and conferences. I also have the opportunity to participate in webinars related to prosecutors and criminal justice issues.

As a complaint counselor, I worked in the legal department at the ACLU of Missouri in the Intake Complaint Unit (ICU). My responsibilities included the screening of civil liberties complaints, the identification of community resources, analyzing written complaints, and conducting fact-finding investigations. I also reviewed applicable regulations and statutes with respect to civil rights and civil liberties.
