Transitioning from an intern to a full time employee, the job required building an enterprise network capable of bringing a startup company into a highly available, secure, and scalable enterprise. The proposed and implemented platform involved Microsoft’s enterprise suite of products varying from on premise solutions such as Active Directory, Lync Server 2013, SQL Server 2012 to Microsoft’s Office 365 for Enterprises cloud suite of products-including Exchange, SharePoint, Lync, Yammer, and SkyDrive/OneDrive. The job involved using 3rd party virtualization platforms to provide thin client/remote desktop solutions for traveling employees, increased server density for research and development purposes, and network security. Moreover, the job included extensive project management skills in planning, deploying, and implementing each of the technologies-budgeting, research, and communication all being vital implementation pieces. In addition to software platforms, the network has been designed with enterprise level networking components, including products from Dell, Cisco, SonicWall, and AudioCodes, keeping high availability and a security focused mindset. Additional duties included extensive travel, meeting onsite with prospective clients, as well as implementing and calibrating the product onsite.

While at Eide Bailly Technology Consulting, the job demonstrated complex work environments using multiple configurations from proprietary software to physical hardware. This job included work in virtualization, Windows OS, Linux OS, custom scripting, extensive writing/reporting skills, and verbal communication skills with clients.

Completing two years at Forum Communications, I worked with a vast array of technologies varying from phone switches to virtualization. The job demonstrated strong customer service skills, troubleshooting and problem solving skills, extensive time management and responsibility skills, and the ability to work as a team in supporting the 5,000+ active device network (consisting of 30+ remote locations).
