I strategically oversee and lead the development and day-to-day implementation of Feed the Children’s operations in Kenya with the support of a multi-disciplinary in-country team, ensuring alignment to the Feed the Children, Inc. vision and mission as well as FEED International strategy and organizational direction.As the Interim Country Director, I am managing a high performing team, engaging with our donors and strategic partners to drive the design and implementation of transformative diverse programs impacting health, nutrition, WASH, food security, and economic resilience in Kenya. I am leading the team in championing the growth, driving the vision, strategic planning, and institutional development of Feed the Children, Kenya.I ensure quality programming and organizational success, collaborating with global and regional technical leaders and liaising with government stakeholders. I represent Feed, the Children, Inc. in Kenya and responsible for growing and maintaining relationships with current, former, and new funders and key stakeholders, such as the Government of Kenya and Private Sector. I play a leading role in driving the delivery of Feed the Children promise to the communities through exciting and growing programming approaches and operational efficiency. I am presented with an exemplary space to motivate and empower my team to deliver high quality interventions in complex socio-economic contexts. I am building a positive working culture and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders to achieve sustainable transformation aligned with household centered economic development priorities at the country and regional levels.

I was honored to lead a diverse team of highly innovative program experts with distinguished technical specialties in economic empowerment, food security, Climate Change adaptation, program development, and partnership management. Overseeing implementation and management of Feed the Children Livelihoods and Resilience interventions in Kenya (Samburu, Turkana, Kajiado, and Nairobi Counties). I led building of a robust synergies to steer the design and implementation of a multi-country, multi-year food security, economic empowerment, and resilience program in Kenya. My main role was to offer strategic support to Livelihood activities focused on improving financial management at the household level, improving community participation, partnership, and support, and increasing food diversity in the community to become self-reliant, financially stable, and food secure.Key responsibilities. Team managementKey achievements included:•Successful program design that included conducting problem analysis, baseline survey, design of result framework, stakeholder analysis, budgeting, detailed implementation plans, monitoring, evaluation and learning framework, and sustainability plans for the projects. •I spearheaded talent development, support supervision and managing team dynamics and staff well-being. I championed coaching, mentorship, and performance tracking. With the support of our great staff and stakeholders, we reached over 30,000 program participants and their families every year with high quality services around economic empowerment, food security and resilience.

I was privileged to coordinate technical support for the Feed the Children, Samburu service delivery programs, aimed at improving the social wellbeing and health outcomes of vulnerable mothers of Children under 5 years. I worked with a team of strong project specialists to oversee implementation of evidence-based systems strengthening strategies to achieve program quality and impact. I provided overall leadership for the programs, facilitated workplan development and budget tracking to achieve project outcomes in compliance with the organizational policies and donor requirements. I championed partnerships and collaboration with the relevant government agencies, implementing partners, and other sector players for social service systems strengthening and aligning project implementation with result framework. I spearheaded advocacy and networking initiatives with the national/county governments, non-state actors and community structures to strengthen project ownership, visibility, resource leverage and sustainability. Key Achievements•Successfully established Feed the Children Samburu field area programs as well as set up of the office and achieved tremendous growth and remarkable community program impact in the 5 years I served. •Spearheaded implementation of WASH, Food Security, Nutrition programs ensuring increased community uptake and community impact. •Developed and regularly reviewed Samburu Program area Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) during budgeting period. •Created and sustained a work environment of mutual respect where team members strived to achieve excellence.
