Portfolio (Desktop Only, Mobile WIP): jacktorcy.github.io/Portfolio/After following problem-solving focused subjects at A-Level, I still didn’t know what area to focus on, I spent a lot of time figuring out what career path I wanted to follow. I was primarily interested in the IT support side of things but then I felt like I wanted more of a challenge and that’s when I discovered software development as a career path.I knew what I wanted to do now but I did not know how to go about it. I began applying for apprenticeships in software, however the most common problem was that I didn’t have enough technical knowledge to pass interviews. I began teaching myself to code online, I followed YouTube videos and courses, but I kept having the same issue of not having an interactive teacher to answer my questions. Which is when I discovered JustIT’s Level-3 software development course, ending in March 2024, which I am currently enrolled on and have made monumental progress. Having completed this course, I have gained not only a great foundation of knowledge but also a certainty that this is the career path I want to follow. I am excited to begin working and continue to gain and absorb as much knowledge as I can. I now know what direction I want my future to take and have begun to make the steps necessary to make my dream a reality and begin to make a real positive impact on the world.
