Third Year Media Production at SolentThrough my sixth form education in Media Studies and Film Studies, I gained the baseline skills in Media Production that I used in my first year at Solent University. This includes an experience in using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro. I used this previous experience to succeed during my first year, where I used it to create a promotional video, a podcast, a photography portfolio and two edits of pre-existing footage. This can be viewed on my personal website.Whilst working in the retail industry at Waitrose and Partners, I was trained in replenishment, to work on the service counters, as well as the checkouts including self checkout supervision, lottery and cigarette podium and regular checkout. This allowed me to gain skills in communicating with customers which is a transferable skill in my future career in media production.I’ve also worked in a Cafe, where I gained skills in transporting drinks, serving customers, making coffees on an espresso machine and bartending. I am currently looking to gain more experience working in Media Production across all areas.
