Post-Bacc Irta Fellow: Hertzano Lab
CurrentRecently joined Dr. Ronna Hertzano's lab within the Section on Omics and Translational Science of Hearing (NIDCD). Currently investigating the protective effects of drugs against noise-induced hearing loss, as well as studying potential biomarkers of inner ear injury. Tasks include conducting auditory brainstem response (ABR) experiments, administering drugs to mice and monitoring hearing loss and recovery over time, performing cochlear dissections, and also staining and imaging inner hair cells. Additional focuses include developing novel experimental protocols, as well as attending weekly meetings with the audiology unit at the NIH clinical center to incorporate patient data into our translational research projects.
