After the coronavirus epidemic closed school buildings across the US, 55 million students were forced to turn their living rooms into classrooms. For the 15 million students without internet access at home, this meant their ability to achieve at the same level as their better-connected peers was at risk. EducationSuperHighway kicked off a new project called Digital Bridge to respond to this online learning gap. I led a dynamic team of 25 ESHers as we tackled this problem head on and used Agile methods to quickly develop and promote software, data, and procurement solutions for students, school districts and state leaders.

As the Director of Government Affairs, I led EducationSuperHighway's state and federal partnership strategy and execution. I managed ESH's team of State Engagement Managers. I represented EducationSuperHighway at national events. I was a member of EducationSuperHighway's senior leadership team, responsible for org-wide strategy and execution.

Developed and managed relationships with state leaders, including Governors' staff and senior state agency officials. Helped policymakers create and direct funding for K-12 broadband. Delivered analysis, tools, and education to help state leadership upgrade Internet connectivity in schools. Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver EducationSuperHighway programs to state partners.

Product Quality Engineer for a variety of Cisco data center and networking product lines, including Unified Computing System (UCS servers), Catalyst 4500 and 4900 ethernet switches, and Nexus 9000 Software Defined Network switches. Responsibilities included technical product management, reliability engineering, root cause failure analysis, closed-loop corrective action, and a strong understanding of the complete product lifecycle including design, manufacturing, and customer application.
