Hello! My name is Jack Weiner, and I am an Undergraduate Student at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, pursuing a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. As an Ophthalmology Research Assistant with Michigan Medicine, I have pursued my fascination with the intricacies behind the functions of photoreceptors, focusing specifically on their outer nuclear layer. This opportunity has expanded my research-based experiences and knowledge, while concurrently sharpening my motor skills through consistent microdissections. My background in traditional ink-based art facilitated my transition into hands-on research, and I aspire to continue developing my dextrous skills within my future research projects.At the University of Michigan, I have striven to establish myself as a leader within the Health-related community. I currently serve on the Board of my Pre-Health Organization, Delta Epsilon Mu. Through this experience, I continuously pursue goals aiding the betterment of my local communities, utilizing my position to create new opportunities for future members. One such accomplishment thus far has been the creation and management of our new website, DemUofM.org. Upon graduating from the University of Michigan in May of 2025, I hope to enter an M.D. program that will prepare me to apply my knowledge within the Biopsychological field of Neuroscience.
