Neurological Surgery department, Advisor: Dr. Douglas AndersonJob Description: As the primary research assistant for Douglas Anderson, M.D., I oversee all aspects of manuscript preparation, submission, and revision for peer-reviewed publications, including: identification and review of pertinent patient history charts; collection, organization and interpretation of subsequent data; co-author and appropriately edit manuscripts; format final manuscripts and all figures according to individual journal specifications; manage manuscript revisions; delegate various manuscript preparations to fellow co-authors; often serve as the primary communication between the principal investigator and all other co-authors. I also assist in poster and/or lecture preparation for local, national, and international neurosurgical and otology conferences.Research involves: review of clinical records pertains to neurosurgical treatment of human pediatric and adult trigeminal neuralgia, dystonia, vestibular schwannoma, normal pressure hydrocephalus, congenital hydrocephalus, spina bifida, chiari malformation, moya moya disease, vascular malformations, epilepsy, and idiopathic intractable pain or spasticity.
