Work as technical leader in Cisco SVS (Solution Validation Services) to provide premium deployment experience for top-tier Cisco Enterprise customers. Responsibilities include:• Provide technical support to global account teams in both pre and post-sale activities to validate network solution or POC (proof of concept).• Review customer network architecture/design, and develop system test plan for all required features.• Design and implement lab network to validate various baseline feature sets as well as executing negative, HA, scale, and performance test.• Partner with business unit technical marketing and engineering teams to analyze and trouble-shoot complex issues.• Host on-site customer visit and present solution validation report.• Work closely with customers to reduce network implementation time and risk.

Worked as network consulting engineer in Cisco ECATS (Enhanced Customer Aligned Test Services), and responsible to deliver high touch system integration and validation services for Cisco Enterprise 3.0 customers. The service was targeted at the top Enterprise and Global accounts e.g. Citigroup, JPMC, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo and more. Laser-focused on customer satisfaction and quality improvement with a key goal to reduce time to adoption of networking solutions and new technology absorption spanning Borderless (Campus/WAN), Datacenter and Unified Collaboration.

Product security baseline and protocol vulnerability testing • Key contributor of Product Security Baseline project as a corporate level (CDO) initiative. The test system verifies security requirements on various Cisco products and creates a baseline which helps to identify gaps for enhancement. I was responsible for test plan design, system integration, packaging, and customer support. Delivered the test guide and a technical presentation (Nerd Lunch) for cross business unit deployment.• Led the Automated Test Center (ATC) security team and designed a vulnerability inspection and security test automation system for multiple Cisco platforms. The system can perform security function baseline conformance testing plus protocol robustness testing with open source or in-house developed attack tools. It’s capable of detecting zero-day defects, and verifying existing security issues as well. Led the local team, designed test plans, integrated scripts, scheduled tests and executed production releases. Coordinated the work between the local team and remote contractors as well as working closely with the Cisco PSIRT team for troubleshooting critical defects. Discovered the PSIRT advisory “Crafted IP Option Vulnerability” released on 01/24/07. And the team found total of 5 Cisco PSIRT advisories in FY07.• Designed and implemented a protocol fuzzing tool for protocol robustness testing. The test suite includes protocol definition, packet generation, test execution and analysis. It is capable of doing security testing on virtually all TCP/IP protocols, either stateful or stateless. Guided remote teams to design the test cases for individual protocols and integrate them into automation.

Dynamic analysis and testing system/tools design• Designed and implemented a memory leak detection subsystem in Cisco IOS for runtime processor and IO memory leak detection. The on demand subsystem helped to discover over 1000 defects since released. A testing tool was also implemented to seamlessly integrate the leak detection into regression and unit test. • Developed part of the prototype and added IO and chunk type memory support in the 2nd phase. The feature was presented in a Nerd Lunch, and I helped deploy it in different regression and development test teams as the main contact.• Designed and enhanced multiple test features for stress and negative test in IOS. I maintained the feature code to simulate low memory conditions, and developed a tool for CLI input validation.Static analysis and testing system design• Designed and implemented an automatic web based system (PERL/SQL) for static source code analysis. The system allows developers, release managers and PMs to easily submit requests, review and track static analysis results and work on the warnings and error messages generated by various compilers (e.g. Prefix, Flexlint). I designed the front-end UI, user job scheduling and the interface to the backend build servers.
