I am an exercise physiologist, specialising in women's exercise and health. My main priority and drive in research is about promoting, raising awareness and advancing understanding of the key influences which impact women in sport and exercise. More specifically, my research is about how the female hormones work to improve a woman’s health, especially bone health. I am the co-founder of the Women in Sport and Exercise Academic Network (WiSEAN.net), co-author of the book, The Exercising Female: Science and its Application, and regularly publish peer-reviewed research articles on improving the health and exercise status of pre- and post-menopausal women.
