As Chapter Lead Data Science APAC, Jacky leads a diverse team of 8 data scientists across Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney that focus on delivery of advanced analytics use cases, thought leaderships, governance and AI / Gen AI strategies across the (re)insurance value chain. Jacky and his team are part of Group Data Services that provide data science capabilities across all lines of business.Jacky pioneered several mortality models using credit bureau data in Hong Kong, and also performed modelling around the effects of different treatment options to diabetes patients in Hong Kong on their risk of developing certain co-morbidities and death.Jacky currently represents Swiss Re in the InsurTech Task Force under the Life Insurance Council of the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers. He is a member of the Advisory Panel for the Advanced Federated Learning for Insurance Applications (“AFLIA”), an initiative by Hong Kong’s Insurance Authority. Jacky is also representing the Society of Actuaries in the International Actuarial Association AI Taskforce Changing Role of Actuaries workstream – co-leading the governance sub-workstream. Furthermore, Jacky is a member of the Information Security Council of Swiss Re Hong Kong.Jacky joined Swiss Re in 2014 as a Valuation & Modelling Actuarial Team Lead for Asia’s Life & Health business before switching to his current team in 2018. Prior to that he worked as an actuarial consultant with over a decade of experience throughout the APAC region, including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. Jacky also had short assignments working in The Netherlands and USA.
